For your amusement, I thought I’d show you my lack of artistic talent…and how my cover artist, Ami Low, managed to work from that to the wonderful covers that we ended up with. Let’s look at the second book in the Dream Series, “Dream Doctor”.
Here’s where we started. This was my initial sketch, done in MS Paint:
You can clearly see that I’ve got the drawing skills of a small child.
Ami went from that initial image, to this:
and from that to the final, finished, spectacular full-color cover:
